The location here is great, very close to restaurants and shops, and the room is spacious with air conditioning, a mini-bar, and a comfortable queen-size bed.

The location is great.
During the same trip we stayed there twice. On the first occasion, we stayed for a few hours (we left very early) in a double room ("approved", simply: the water in the bathtub did not run and there was a background noise, like from an engine, that was a bit annoying...). On our return, the reception offered us an upgrade as they did not have availability for the next two nights we had booked. So they gave us a "suite" on the top floor... spacious, it's true, but -without going into questions of furniture or decoration- there were a few details of equipment, maintenance and service that could be improved: there was no hair dryer (it was winter and it was quite cold in Montevideo... Strangely enough, in the double room there was; when I asked at reception they told me that they didn't have one (and that was that): apart from not apologizing for it (nor showing even a little concern about trying to get one for me), one of the receptionists adopted a rather hostile attitude, as if the problem were mine...) The light bulb in the toilet was out: we warned him when we arrived but nobody went to change it. And the room service forgot about us and walked right past the room.. Another question that does not say much about the quality of the attention is that, in both rooms, the reception telephone was systematically communicated and if you had an urgency to communicate with them there was no other option but to go down to the reception. As for breakfast, without going into details of the rest of the "offer" (much flour and little quality), the coffee is frankly bad. Anyway.. that the 4 stars category is a bit big for this hotel..

The location is very good. Breakfast is good. I felt comfortable in the hotel and in my room.
Montevideo has a problem in services, especially in the hotel industry in general. Sometimes the staff seems unprepared and disrespectful. In this case, in this hotel, everyone has been kind (very young people), except for one of the receptionists who has been badly educated. And overbearing. I ignored the situation so as not to create a feeling of unease for myself because at that moment I was arriving at the hotel. The rest of the reception staff, very nice and helpful. In the dining room, the people who attend to you, could be a little more friendly. But there are not too many complaints about them. It is simply part of the fact that Uruguay is not ready for European tourism. They are used to a majority guest of a few days, from Brazil and Argentina. And they don't make much of an effort to improve. But it is a problem of the hotel business in general in Montevideo, mainly

We stayed in the executive double room, it was modern, with great views, and had a comfortable queen size bed.

The good predisposition in the Reception. The excellent location in front of Plaza Cagancha and close to everything. The acoustic isolation of the room. Breakfast: The wholemeal bread was very good, as well as the orange juice. Excellent that they have it in the fridge.
door had the part of the lock that is screwed against the door broken, therefore when entering and leaving it was a nuisance that was repeated each time. Minibar was empty. There was no plastic or paper or glass cup in the bathroom or Minibar to use. If there was, I couldn't find it anywhere. furniture in the Reception and general appearance looks old-fashioned and unattractive to stay there. It's like it's there to comply with the fact that there has to be furniture, not for the comfort of the passenger. Breakfast: The scrambled eggs from breakfast didn't look appetizing and when we arrived at breakfast at 09:30 there were still the leftovers. sausages in tomato sauce were cold. There was too much sweet and too little salt to eat. cheese. it left something to be desired,

Well priced and good standard hotel located in a good area close enough to the center of town, the restaurant for dinner and the very modern shopping mall attached to the Sheraton Property, or the boardwalk beaches. Simply no complains at all, REALLY NICE stay.

We loved the central location right on Cagancha Plaza, making it easy to explore the old city and the Rambla. the hotel's restaurant, "Biobar," was a breath of fresh air with its healthy menu. Despite being a cozy single-bed room, it had all the essentials and even offered a wonderful ocean view. the reception staff, led by sr. Jorge, were efficient and helpful, always ready to assist. the hotel was surrounded by a great selection of restaurants and it felt safe to walk around. Balmoral Plaza Hotel offered great value and had a friendly staff.
Felt secure and had no reason to complain.

Location, large room, comfortable bed. Good pressure in the shower. Breakfast is good, varied and rich, except for the "ham" which is like plastic and there is no toaster or anything to heat the bread in. Good orange juice, coffee, baked goods, yogurt, cereals, jams, all very tasty.
They offer free garage, if available, do not clarify that there are eight places for more than 90 rooms. I chose the room, double superior, said with a whirlpool bath, I do not know how many have available, I consulted and we did not touch, only shower. screen was impregnated. you take a shower, as soon as the water starts to fall down the drain, very unpleasant smell comes out. frigobar had a schuko plug with an ungrounded adapter (very dangerous) and door didn't close properly. Although we didn't have a bad time, we had to leave the car on the street and hurry up to get out before 9 a. m., because it was a place reserved for a public office. There was also no room for the three reserved for the hotel. I don't think I qualify for four stars.

The best thing about the hotel is the location on the main avenue, with a very nice entrance in front of a park and next to the judiciary.
It's not a four-star hotel by any means, to be honest, for cost effectiveness, everything was good. Breakfast is acceptable, so far. They don't restock and it ends at 10. 30 a. m. (the only complaint was the first day -Monday- that we went down to have breakfast, there was a scramble of rotten-smelling eggs that many left). Another point against cleaning, we were on the 10th floor (when we came out of the elevator a very invasive smell of humidity or dirty carpets in the corridors), in our room it was very tidy (but the bathroom taps had a lot of dirt and you could notice them with scale, as well as the hydro massage, I never used because it gave me the impression of being dirty). finally, although the hotel has a bar, it doesn't work (just to provide hot water for the thermos). It's a big hotel, well located, abandoned. Anyway, for a short stay it's fine.

I was quoted a price of eighty dollars. They charged me 2,200 Uruguayan pesos, much more than the quoted price, and didn´t give me a receipt.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, situated on Plaza Cagancha, Avenida 18 de julio, Centro, within walking distance of everything one could want. It is also right down the street from some great restaurants, making it easy to find a good meal. the small business center is a nice feature for business travelers. the rooms are clean and comfortable, with ample space in both the room and bathroom. the service provided by the staff is friendly and helpful. the breakfast offered is satisfying, with a good variety of options to choose from.
One negative aspect of the hotel is the lack of a view.

The breakfasts were hearty with fruits and juice, for instance. The staff were outstandingly accommodating, pleasant.
